Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A man was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the topic of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is important that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These types of items being offered, generally online, have no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

"You simply do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
