DevOps Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer

(m/f/d)

Role Overview
As a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer at ClipMyHorse.TV, you will continuously improve the CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines of our six development teams and help us scale our existing AWS-based infrastructure. Making the lives of our developers easier by providing tools and a stack for their local development, as well as supporting them in investigations to find and solve scale and performance challenges, is what makes you happy. You will play an important role in our transition to a more granular, service-based architecture and be at the forefront of reshaping our future infrastructure to set us up for further growth. Join our international teams, where collaboration, flexibility, and a remote-first work environment empower you to shape our platform to provide the best streaming experience to equestrian sport fans.

What You Can Expect:

  • Infrastructure at scale: Be part of the journey to level up our infrastructure to handle 10x growth.
  • Bring your curiosity: Experiment with new ideas and technologies to widen the limits of what is feasible.
  • Collaborative Environment: Value open-mindedness and collaboration, providing honest feedback, and supporting colleagues for shared success.
  • Quality Over Deadlines: Prioritize the development of maintainable, high-quality solutions over meeting deadlines with mediocre implementations.
  • Remote-First Work: Embrace a remote-first work environment, allowing you to align work with your life and unleash your creativity from anywhere.
  • Autonomy and Responsibility: Work in a grown-up company with a startup spirit, aligning with ClipMyHorse.TVs OKRs and contributing to bigger goals.
  • Professional Growth: Invest in your professional growth, ensuring you thrive in your career within our agile and dynamic environment.
  • Use what works best for you: You decide when, where, and how you want to work, as you know best what hardware and software support your work and what environment you need to be able to perform.

What Makes You a Fit:

  • Professional Experience: Proven track record in operating, scaling, debugging, and optimizing LEMP and Docker-based microservices on AWS.
  • Infrastructure as code: Experience with infrastructure automation tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Application Monitoring: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or Prometheus.
  • Support our customers experience: You are willing to work in the US time zones (UTC-10 to UTC-4) and occasionally during weekends.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).

What Makes You Shine:

While not mandatory, experience or familiarity with the following is desirable:

  • Experience operating Kubernetes on AWS
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, including ECS, Cloudfront, Lambda, EC2, S3 and RDS
  • Experience providing stable and easy to use environments to developers based on Docker and Localstack
  • Usage and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, preferable based on Gitlab Pipelines
  • Knowledge of running PHP applications beyond CGI
  • Usage of code quality toolings and how to integrate those into a CI/CD process
  • AWS Cloud practitioner/DevOps Engineer/Security certification
  • Experience with AWS Media Services and global content caching and delivery through AWS services

Next Steps:

Apply now, and we’ll schedule a 30-minute meeting to get to know you better. If there’s a match, we’ll proceed with a cultural interview to ensure our values align. The next stage is a technical interview focused on your skillset, with minimal knowledge-based questions. You may additionally have a brief conversation with our CEO, before we make you an official offer. We offer prompt feedback at every stage, and once you receive an offer, you’ll have time to decide, and we’re here to answer any questions. We look forward to welcoming you to the ClipMyHorse.TV family!
