Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in .

A guy was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is vital that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of items being offered, normally online, have actually undergone no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this might have on your health."
