Large quantities of unlicensed medications have actually been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be harmful.
